Objective:
The International MBS Ask AI Business Simulation Challenge 2026 offers students a hands-on introduction to the fast-changing business marketplace. Through practical exercises in data analysis and AI decision-support systems (DSS), using business intelligence (BI) and Ask AI, the program enhances business management learning. Participants work in teams to analyze and debate key business issues and must make both short-term and long-term decisions to survive—and potentially lead—in a competitive market. The challenge also gives aspiring entrepreneurs an opportunity to showcase their business acumen and broaden their horizons.
Competition Format:
This competition is carried out in the form of business simulation with teams consisting of 3-4 students from the same university to run a virtual enterprise, competing with other virtual companies being run by other teams. The contestants are required to form their teams to join the competition.
The competition uses “Macro Business Simulation” Software as the designated competition platform. Hong Kong teams will join the competition on-site at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on 06th Jun 2026.
The overall objective of the business, within this simulation scenario, is to achieve the highest score throughout 5 rounds of the game plus the possible extended rounds on a ‘balanced scorecard’ and the scoring results of interviews by the judges.
The balanced scorecard is designed to provide a summary of the overall business performance for a given period as well as measure the current profitability of the business. The balanced scorecard contains key elements which drive the total score for your company’s performance. The major KPI to evaluate each company’s performance including the Net Present Value (NPV) for a certain period of accumulated dividends and net income, profit margin, current ratio, or return on equity ratio (ROE), etc. will be described before the competition. (70% of the Total Score)
In the second part of the competition, the top 2 winning teams from each of the groups are required to prepare a presentation deck to illustrate their business decision along with the top 2 highest score teams from the avenger game, the score will be given based on the following criteria concerning the presentations: (30% of the Total Score)
